It's been quite a while since I've posted anything here. This new year has given me some perspective and I find myself wanting to be more attached to this crazy internet, mainly because I've seen some really beautiful and inspiring things. These things make me feel good... make any dismal part of the everyday fade to the background. There is much here that is worth delving into and I find myself drawn to it now more than ever.

Currently I'm working on things for a group show in Norfolk, VA this summer. It's been lovely having a deadline for I find it helps me focus a bit more... lets me put more of myself and my time into what I love. This is important.

I'll also be part of a group show here in Seattle this summer. All the work will be on or made with Matryoshka, otherwise known as russian nesting dolls. Looking forward to working with these. So many possibilities.

My piece, " Flight of the Mustache Monster," has made it into the Tacoma issue of City Arts Magazine as a supplement to Michael Magee’s poem “Kafka 9-1-1.”

Looks like I'll be hunting down a copy this week to see how it came out. I'm very happy to be part of this great publication!

It has been quite a while since I've updated and I do apologize. Regardless of lack of updates, I have been working on a series of paintings in hopes of presenting a decent body of work to the world. Here are a couple of pics of the things I've been working on.

My studio is FINALLY clean as well. Nothing like record heat to keep me in the basement organizing and getting rid of things I don't need.

I have unearthed four drawings from late last year that I'm offering for purchase. All come unframed. My studio has become a cluttered mess and I need to make room for new things! The medium is carbon, graphite and colored pencil on paper.

If interested, email me at: vonsplithoof@gmail.com

The other 2 are here:
